Walmart (WMT) continues to open walk-in clinics in three southern states.

WalmartThe retailer first announced that it would open medical centers operated by other companies back in August.

According to Walmart, 12 Walmart Care Clinics have been opened in Georgia, South Carolina and Texas this year. The first clinic was opened April 25 in Copperas Cove, TX.

Since 2005, as part of an ongoing pilot program, Walmart has leased space in its stores to local health systems and other healthcare providers who own and operate clinics. WMT has approximately 94 of these clinics in Walmart stores across the U.S.

The clinics charge $40 per visit or $4 for Walmart employees under the company’s health insurance. The medical centers will be open for 80 hours a week.

The retailer recently announced that most of its part-time workers will lose their health care benefits. These Walmart employees will have to pay $40 per visit.

WMT stock is up 1.4% Monday afternoon.
