Amazon (AMZN) Echo is a new device that looks to take on Apple’s (AAPL) Siri.

Amazon Echo listens to verbal commands. The device is always linked up to Wi-Fi and can be activated with the word “Alexa”. Users can ask te device questions or give it commands and it will listen. Echo is currently only being sent out via invitation.

Here are a few things to know about Amazon Echo.

  • It is always connected to the Cloud and learns the more it’s used.
  • It can play music, give weather alerts, edit shopping lists and more.
  • The device contains eight microphones so that it can easily hear a command or question even while its playing music.
  • It has a 360° omni-directional audio that can provide music from several streaming sources.
  • It costs $199, but Prime members can get it for $99 for a limited time.
  • There are Fire, Google (GOOG) Android, iOS and desktop apps for the device.
  • The device also comes with a remote that has a built-in microphone and volume controls.
