Twitter (TWTR) and nonprofit Women, Action, and the Media (WAM) have deveTloped a tool to report online sexual harassment.

TwitterThe WAM website now has a comprehensive form where you report “gendered harassment.” The organization will then “escalate” relevant reports to Twitter within 24 hours.

One-time offenders may not be subject to any action from WAM because one tweet may not be considered as harassment. However, the website still encourages victims to report online harassment.

“We’re always trying to improve the way we handle abuse issues, and WAM is one of many organizations we work with around the world on best practices for user safety,” said Twitter in a statement.

WAM will also use these reports to compile data in order to better understand how online offenders behave.

TWTR stock is down 1.79% Monday afternoon.
