After a full year of enjoying the best video games of 2014, it’s time to look at the most anticipated video games of 2015.

best-of-2014-2015-185The crop of 2014 video games set a pretty high bar for video game quality — from fast-paced first-person shooters like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare to sweeping RPGs like Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Now that 2015 is almost here, gamers are surely getting excited for many of the titles coming in the next year. Owners of Microsoft’s (MSFT) Xbox One, Sony’s (SNE) PlayStation 4, Nintendo’s (NTDOY) Wii U and 3DS and PC all have something to look forward to in 2015.

With that said, let’s jump aboard the hype train to look at the most anticipated video games of 2015 in no particular order!

Most Anticipated Video Games of 2015 — The Legend of Zelda

Nintendo showed off the first The Legend of Zelda trailer at E3 2014. It included a small section of the game that showed main character Link fighting off a monster while riding on the back of his horse Epona.

Fast forward a few months and Nintendo has now shown off an extended gameplay video for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda game. The video was hosted by Nintendo developers Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miyamoto. The footage included horse combat, open-world exploration and horse AI.

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U doesn’t yet have a set release date, but is confirmed for a 2015 release.

Most Anticipated Video Games of 2015 — Evolve

Evolve is an upcoming first-person shooter whose gameplay is centered around a squad facing off against a ferocious monster. The game was first shown off in early 2014 and will be coming out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Evolve will have four players teaming up to take out a monster that is controlled by a fifth player. The goal for the four players is to team up and use their unique abilities to take down the monster as soon as possible. The player controlling the monster needs to avoid the other players and grow stronger until it’s ready to take them on.

Evolve will be released on Feb. 10, 2015.

Most Anticipated Video Games of 2015 — Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman: Arkham Knight will be the fourth entry in the Arkham series. It will be coming out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

In Batman: Arkham Knight, players will run around the entirety of Gotham City as they fight off several of Batman’s enemies that are being lead by the Scarecrow in an attempt to kill the caped crusader. Also new to this game is the addition of the Batmobile to give players quick transport through the city.

Batman: Arkham Knight is set to release on  June 2, 2015.

Most Anticipated Video Games of 2015 — Halo 5: Guardians

Halo 5: Guardians is being developed by 343 Industries — the developers behind Halo 4 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It will be an exclusive for the Xbox One.

There isn’t much known about Halo: Guardians story, but a trailer shown off at E3 in 2013 showed Master Chief in a desert setting. A later trailer introduced a new character that may be out to search for a missing Master Chief.

Halo 5: Guardians doesn’t have an exact release date, but it’s scheduled to come out sometime during the third or fourth quarter of 2015.

Most Anticipated Video Games of 2015 — Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be an exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS. The game was released in Japan on Oct. 11, 2014.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate features quest-driven gameplay, where pit players against various different monsters. The game won’t include much in the way of story. The goal of the game is for players to craft new armors and weapons from monster parts so that they can become more powerful to take on larger monsters and ultimately the last monster in the game.

Players will be able to hunt together in online mode.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but it’s scheduled for launch sometime in early 2015.
