In this week’s PS4 news, Sony (SNE) announced an exclusive version of the PlayStation 4 to celebrate the console’s history.
The electronics company released a 20th anniversary version of the PS4 in the “original grey” of the first PlayStation console, according to the Sony blog.
The limited, 20th anniversary version of the PS4 was released in Japan today–exactly 20 years after the Dec. 3, 1994 release of the first PlayStation console, also in Japan.
Sony is selling 12,300 copies of the grey PS4 in honor of the day’s date. Japan customers can buy it on sale today for 49,800 yen in Japan and it will cost $499 in the US.
SNE stock is down about 0.05% Wednesday afternoon.
