AT&T (T) has announced that it will be adding data rollover to some of its plans.
The AT&T data rollover announcement comes one month after T-Mobile announced it was adding a similar feature to its plans.T-Mobile CEO John Legere took a wing at the wireless carrier for offering “a lesser, later version” of the company’s plan, reports CNN Money.
Here are a few things to know about the AT&T data rollover plan, as collected from CNN Money.
- Data rollover will available for AT&T’s mobile share value plan on Jan. 25.
- Data that is carried over to the next month expires at the end of that month.
- The rolled data will be used last in the next month.
- Additional data purchased after a monthly allowance has ran out won’t be carried over to the next month.
- Changing a data plan will result in rollover data being lost, but it will start again in the next month.

T-Mobile’s data rollover plan is called “Data Stash”. It allows customer to use rollover data for up to a year before it resets and also includes 10GB of free data for each line on the plan.
AT&T shares were up 1% as of Thursday afternoon.
