Taco Bell, which is owned by Yum Brands (NYSE:YUM), has started a Change.org petition to make a taco emoji a thing.

taco-bell-#tacoemoji-yumTaco Bell started the petition because the Unicode Consortium, which regulates emojis, is considering 37 new emojis. Among these new emojis is a taco one. The company wants the emoji approved and has started a petition to let its desires be known.

The message left by Taco Bell in the petition claims that emojis are biased toward hamburgers and pizza. It also notes how useless some emojis are, such as one of a VCR and another of a floppy disk. The petition currently has over 27,000 signatures.

Taco Bell is serious about its desire for a taco emoji. The company is even selling shirts with that read “Taco Emoji” on the front. Purchase of a shirt includes free shipping.

The taco emoji push has even moved to Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) and is under the “#tacoemoji” hashtag. Here’s what a few users have to say about the campaign.

  • “I need a #TacoEmoji so that can be the only thing I tweet after I die”
  • “On the bright side, at least the after-effects of @tacobell already have an emoji #TacoEmoji”
  • “I’m currently purchasing the #TacoEmoji shirt bc it’s a cause I truly believe in. The world needed a taco emoji years ago. I believe.”
  • “For the love of Taco Bell! @tacobell #TacoBell #TacoEmoji”
  • “I’ve already signed the petition lol #TacoEmoji #makeithappen”
