Nintendo has apologized for running out of some Amiibo plastic figurines as sales have exceeded expectations.

Nintendo

The company issued a statement regarding the toys, saying fans have been more enthusiastic about Amiibo than the company expected. Some shipments were also delayed due to west coast labor disputes.

“We understand how frustrating it can be at times if consumers are unable to find certain figures, and we apologize for that,” Nintendo wrote. The company also said that it plans on communicating better with its fans.

“Nintendo plans to make it easier for consumers to know when new Amiibo are on the way, through Nintendo press announcements, timely updates on our social media channels, and working closely with retailers.”

Nintendo will manufacture more Amiibo toys in order to increase supply and meet consumer demands. However, there will still be a shortage of the plastic figurines in the near future.

“We are constantly looking for the opportunity to reissue amiibo and are already making plans to bring back some currently out-of-stock Amiibo figures,” Nintendo wrote. “Stay tuned for details.”
