The deal between IBM and the Weather Channel will have it acquiring much of the company’s data and technology. This includes the company’s app, website and more. However, it doesn’t include the actual TV channel. The company will likely sell weather data to businesses, reports CNNMoney.

The IBM deal to acquire the Weather Channel will also give it access to all of the service’s forecasting data. This information is very valuable and is one of the most-searched subjects online. The tech company already started handling data services for the Weather Channel in a deal signed in March, CNNMoney notes.

David Kenny, CEO of the Weather Channel, said that the deal with IBM could mean better forecasts and data processing. He said that IBM could use Watson, its artificial intelligence, to achieve this, reports The New York Times.

IBM shares were up 1% as of Wednesday afternoon.
