apple-watch-2-trial-production-aaplWatch: A new Apple (AAPL) rumor claims that the Apple Watch 2 will start trial production this month, reports AppleInsider. According to this rumor, Quanta will be handling the manufacturing of the trial Watches. There will only be a few of the trial devices made, but it’s a sign that the company could be preparing to release the next generation of its smartwatch sometimes in the near future. When this happens, the company will likely enlist the help of other suppliers.

Band: A new patent for an Apple Watch band that has other uses has been granted to AAPL, MacRumors notes. The new patent describes a “magnetic wristband” that would be able to act as a stand and protective cover for the smartwatch. These different modes for the watch would be achieved via its magnetic properties. The patent even describes how users could store their watches on their MacBooks or refrigerators when not using it via the band.

Display: A new report claims that Samsung (SSNLF) will be the main supplier of OLED displays for Apple, reports 9to5Mac. This report claims that the two companies have “practically” reached an agreement for Samsung to supply OLED screens to AAPL. If the report is correct and a deal does occur, it states that the tech company will be willing to invest up to $7.47 billion for plant and equipment changes.
