What is augmented reality?

What is augmented reality

The term refers to technology that uses computer-generated data to either add, or modify elements of the world. If you have yet to hear of augmented reality, chances are you have not heard of the Pokemon craze that is taking over this country’s youth.

Pokemon Go is perhaps the most popular form of augmented reality out there right now, as the smartphone app allows you to see animated creatures in the real world through your phone.

The game also allows you to navigate the real world as if it is a Pokemon game, with Pokestops to earn items, and even stores that allow you to buy items with real money.

Augmented reality is different from virtual reality, which replaces the real world with a simulated universe that is also computer-generated.

If you finish capturing every Pokemon in the game, there are other augmented reality apps you can explore the world with, including a Zombie game, a superhero workout routine, and an alien invasion.
