The company is looking to bring Star Wars to life with its “Audience Interaction Projection System,” which gives visitors the opportunity to use real-life beam swords in a manner that is safe and fun.

Although there are many ways and environments in which this Disney idea could come to life, the most likely one seems to be a theater with certain “particulate matter” that can activate your lightsaber. This could be liquid nitrogen, water vapor, or even dust.

The LED-device would use infrared technology to battle illusions that appear to be real objects coming at you, including drones and laser beams. You would then be able to battle these hazards with your lightsaber, or even have battles.

Perhaps Disney will roll out these functionalities in its upcoming Star Wars Land, which is a work in progress that will feature everything from the Millennium Falcon, drones, and plenty of characters from the film series over a plot of land that is comprised of 14 acres.

The real lightsaber may come with technology that makes it vibrate when it comes into contact with an object, similar to the way PlayStation controllers vibrate when you’re in the thick of the action.

One way to bring the lightsaber to life could be through an app on your smartphone. Additionally, you’ll be wearing a vest that will serve as your faux body, taking damage when you’re hit with a laser.

Disney released fiscal third-quarter results last week, posting earnings and net sales that beat the consensus estimate. The company continued to rake in revenue over the period from its latest Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.

DIS stock is down 0.2% Thursday.
