Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS) has announced that its famous Main Street Electrical Parade at Disney World will be coming to an end.

Disney World, Electrical Parade, DIS

Disney World will hold its last Main Street Electrical Parade on Oct. 9, 2016. The event first debuted in 1977. The parade will stop taking place at the park, but will move to Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. for a limited time next year.

Disney World’s Main Street Electrical Parade has several scenes from the company’s various films displayed in floats. These floats are covered in over half a million colorful LED lights. They are accompanied by the theme Baroque Hoedown, which has pieces from other Disney songs woven into it.

The Main Street Electrical Parade at Disney World won’t take place on the same nights that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party occurs. Those planning trips to the park that want to see the parade before it comes to an end can check out this page for showtimes of the event.

The Disney World website also includes a map of the Main Street Electrical Parade’s route and how long it lasts. The parade always takes place at night and each run goes for about 20 minutes before finishing.

The Disney World Main Street Electrical Parade typically starts at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Most nights it only has a single showing, but sometimes there are second showings that start at 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

You can check out a video of the Disney World Main Street Electrical Parade below. This specific showing took place in May 2016.
