Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) is finally adding almond milk to its menu.

StarbucksStarting this September, the coffee giant will add the dairy alternative for an additional $0.60 per drink. More than 96,000 signed a request that implored Starbucks to add almond milk to its fold.

The cow milk alternative is the most popular nondairy milk in the U.S., with 58% of adults in in this segment consuming it. The vegan option has “light almond notes without any added flavoring,” says Starbucks.

The company’s brand of almond milk will be unflavored, in order to ensure that your lattes, frappuccinos and other hot and cold coffee beverages continue to taste the same.

Eight ounces of the beverage — which will be made with almond butter — will come with three grams of sugar. In comparison, a serving of 2% milk comes equipped with 12 to 13 grams of sugar.

Twitter has exploded with the news of almond milk coming to Starbucks, including positive messages from animal activists. “Wow! @Starbucks will soon begin offering #AlmondMilk in *ALL* it’s US locations!!! RT if you’re excited too! #huge,” tweeted The Humane League.

On the flip side, the move has received backlash from consumers with nut allergies, including one user who tweeted: “Food allergy increased 18percent between 1997-2007 w tree nuts ranked #1. So why would @Starbucks add #almondmilk? Also adding Epi-Pen? Nuts”

Starbucks has been appeasing employees recently by expanding its healthcare benefitshiking the wages of workers, and even loosening the dress code.

SBUX stock is up 0.7% Wednesday.
