Amazon’s Alexa May Be Coming to PCs Soon

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is considering rolling out its voice assistant Alexa to PCs in the near future.

AmazonThe online retailer announced that computers and other devices may soon have the voice assistant, which is similar to Microsoft‘s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Cortana and Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) Siri.

Alexa has been a relatively newcomer to the world of voice-activated assistants, but the Amazon creation has grown in popularity recently, making the possibility of rolling it out to PCs a real possibility.

The e-commerce retailer uses the voice-activated assistant for its Echo speaker, which is a high-tech music device the company released recently.

The company also has third-party offerings for Alexa Skills, which gives other companies the opportunity to link their services with the Amazon voice assistant. Alexa Voice Service API allows other hardware makers to put Alexa into their devices.

One such company who may be adopting the service in its computers in Lenovo, which is constantly on the lookout for hardware that exceeds Windows’ offerings.

In regards to other companies that have integrated their voice assistants to computers, Microsoft installed Cortana for Windows 10 PCs last year. Meanwhile, Apple has announced that it will be launching Siri to Mac OS desktops.

Amazon recently announced a new website called Amazon Vehicles that helps consumers learn more about vehicles, including their design, different makes and models for vehicles.

AAPL stock is up 0.2% Thursday.
