The rumor mill is off this time as police officers have not launched a criminal investigation against the actor. Additionally, the LAPD has no knowledge of any child abuse allegations being made towards Pitt.

The announcement comes following rumors surrounding his wife Angelina Jolie’s decision to file for divorce. Rumors were swirling regarding Pitt being abusive to one of his children verbally and physically, and talking to the police regarding the matter.

Pitt has not talked to the police and the rumors appear to have no truth behind them. Jolie recently filed for divorce from the husband, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services was also reached for comment on the matter, and its offices said they can neither confirm nor deny whether or not they’ve been in touch with the family.

“We have very strict confidentially laws that don’t allow us to confirm or deny the subjects of our investigations,” spokeswoman Amara Suarez. No investigation reports have been confirmed by the agency’s media team.

Jolie and Pitt have been married for a little over two years, and they have been together for more than 11 years. Throughout the course of their relationship, they have been raising six children, some of which were adopted and others were birthed by Jolie.
