Microsoft Corporation’s HomeHub is a software program that will seek to give users assistance in their homes. This includes managing smart devices connected to its network and giving users access to different PC profiles on the fly.

The report, which comes from Windows Central, claims that HomeHub will work with any device that supports Windows 10. However, it will work best with devices that have a touchscreen and other sensors. Microsoft Corporation is reportedly designing it around All-In-One PCs and 2-in-1 computers with touchscreens.

According to this report, HomeHub will also include a Family Desktop feature. This will allow all members of the family to have access to basic apps on the computer. It will also let them access their own specific information with their authorization. A special version of Microsoft Corporation’s Cortana virtual assistant will also be available with this feature.

While the rumors surrounding HomeHub claim that Microsoft Corporation won’t be making a specific device for the software, that doesn’t mean others can’t. Reports claim that the company is trying to motivate third-party developers to make devices that support the software.

The report from Windows Central cites several unnamed individuals. The publication also acknowledges that some of the features it is listing for HomeHub may not come to pass. It claims that the software will be introduced across the Redstone 2, 3 and 4 updates.

Everything in this report makes it apparent that HomeHub is Microsoft Corporation’s answer to Amazon.com, Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Echo and Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG,GOOGL) Google Home devices. Another recent rumor claims that Amazon is working on a successor to Echo that will feature a large touchscreen.
