At StateoftheMarkets.com, we strive to “own the best and ignore the rest” in our equity portfolios. Toward this end, each day we search our database for a “top stock” (a top rated company in terms of earnings strength as well as company and industry performance) that presents a strong technical “set up” and a good entry point.
In short, when our equity team is looking to add a stock to one of our portfolios, the “bull’s eye” stock shown below is generally their first choice.
|Company||Symbol||Industry||Stock Rating||YTD% Gain||S.T. Stop Loss|
|B/E Aerospace||BEAV||Aerospace & Defense||8.7||+40.93%||$67.52|
Why We Like The Stock:
B/E Aerospace (BEAV) is our most compelling buy today due to the fact that it is a top rated stock (in terms of earnings strength and company/industry performance) with a positive technical set-up. Aerospace and defense stocks have been hot this year, as evidenced in great charts like Boeing (BA), Honeywell (HON), Esterline Technologies (ESL), and BEAV.
BEAV recently hit intraday highs on August 9, before pulling back through the latter half of the month. Currently, the stock has bounced up off of its 50-day moving average beautifully, and is gaining once again. While the weekly chart is a bit extended, we like BEAV in the short-term as a trade with decent upside. We would set our stop right around August 29’s open, which is the recent short-term low.
We Would Be Buyers:
At the current price (~$69.79), or on a pullback to the 50-day moving average ($68.51).
