Enjoy the Rally and Start Buying Stocks
July 22, 2008Jamie Dlugosch, InvestorPlace
Last week the market rallied, and some will claim this is nothing more than a dead cat bounce and a short covering move higher. I disagree completely. This rally has legs, and you would be wise to take advantage by establishing long positions, abandoning commodities and covering your shorts.

The Next Bill Gates
June 27, 2008Georges Yared, GameChangers
This week, the torch was passed from one of the great GameChanging CEOs of the past to one of the great GameChanging CEOs of the future. As of today, Bill Gates ends his 32-year run as co-founder and chairman of Microsoft. He is leaving all day-to-day operations to focus on philanthropic and charitable good works through the foundation he and his wife started called – appropriately enough – the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Stock Market Anticipation is Worth the Wait
June 24, 2008Jamie Dlugosch, Investors Insights
There are so many great moments in advertising. One of my favorites of all time is the 1970s ad for Heinz Ketchup (HNZ). The simple image of a bottle reluctantly releasing its goods, resonates to this day. Just like the Heinz commercial, investors are waiting with anticipation with regard to the stock market.

The Surprising Way to Profit from Oil
June 20, 2008Georges Yared, GameChangers
At GameChangers, I'm currently recommending three great companies that are changing the energy game. These are the ones to own. All three offer real, practical solutions to our energy dilemma far more effective than any politician has devised and, frankly, better than anything being pursued in Big Oil's board rooms. Here's how these three companies are putting us on the right energy track.
FedEx Corp (FDX): Still on Time
June 20, 2008Jamie Dlugosch, Investors Insights
Anyone who pays any sort of attention to the stock market could see this one coming a mile away. The earnings report by FedEx Corp (FDX) was another disappointment in a long line of earnings season lackluster results. You knew–just knew–that the company would disappoint the Street. Thankfully, the shares weren't beaten up too bad, taking a pretty modest 2% hit in the day's trading.
I'm Taking My Daughter Fishing
June 13, 2008Jamie Dlugosch, Investors Insights
This Father's Day, Julia, my oldest, and I are going fishing. Having recently turned five, she is now old enough to be able to cast her own line. In thinking about fishing, I am struck by the similarities to investing. For the anglers, we throw out the line, and wait for a bite.
Chaos at Lehman Brothers
June 12, 2008Louis Navellier, What's Working on Wall Street Now
Wall Street was stunned today by the chaos at Lehman Brothers (LEH). A few days ago, the bank reported an astounding loss of $2.8 billion. Then the firm said it was going to raise $6 billion in fresh capital. That wasn't enough to satisfy shareholders so today Lehman announced that it's replacing its COO and CFO. Fortunately, we spotted the troubles at Lehman early on with the aid of my stock-rating tool PortfolioGrader Pro, which rated LEH as a Sell. I hope you took our advice then and steered clear of Lehman, especially considering that the stock has lost half its value in the past month.
