Maybe. Maybe not.
Since Minaj’s appearance on Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 mixtape debuted Monday, media outlets have been clamoring that the star, who once sent tweets to president Obama, is in camp Romney.
There’s good reason as to why many journalists came to the conclusion the Minaj is pro-Romney. After all, the following lyrics are a part of her song:
“I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b*****es is up f***ing the economy.”
However, rap is a more intricate art form than it may appear, and Minaj, who is fairly complicated as well, is known for taking on multiple persona in the name of entertaining — she sometimes is referred to a Barbie, Girl Friday and Roman.
Louis Peitzman with The Gawker also suggests that Minaj might be using irony in the song instead of pledging her support.
“Maybe the first half of the verse is Minaj quoting a Republican, rather than speaking for herself, in which case the ‘lazy b*****es ‘ ‘f***ing up the economy’ would be the Republicans, not the Obama administration,” Peitzman wrote.
Regardless of Minaj’s political persuasions, the entertainer/perfume creator, likes to keep her fans guessing.
My theory on the matter is that she’ll probably tell the world what she really thinks on her blog or via Twitter … just don’t expect the answer to come anytime soon.
