Facebook (FB) exec Sheryl Sandberg has announced that she will not be running for office despite the rumors.
She said that a political career is not for her and she has no intentions of leaving her current job to run for office. Sheryl Sandberg also confirmed that she will be staying with Facebook after some confusion arose over her decision to sell half her Facebook holdings.
“A good chunk of what was sold was all for taxes, so there’s just confusion on that,” she said. “I love my job. I love what we do every day to connect the world, and I love being able to work on ‘Lean In’ in my personal time.”
Sheryl Sandberg released a highly influential book titled Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead which gives advice to women on how to succeed in the workplace. The book has already sold 1.75 million copies.
FB stock is up about 5% Wednesday.
