Google Snubs Jesus on Easter

Google Doodle features leftist icon Cesar Chavez instead

NewLetters Google Snubs Jesus on EasterSearch engine and tech giant Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is taking heat today for not putting Jesus on its front page for Easter.

The search engine — which featured a portrait of union activist Cesar Chavez instead — says it uses its Google Doodle program to honor historical figures and events, reports Fox News.

That isn’t enough for some people. The Daily Caller noted that Google chair Eric Schmidt and the Obama administration have very close ties, and Fox News has noted that Google has never honored Jesus on either Easter or Christmas.

“I thought the Chavez-google thing was a hoax or an early April Fool’s Day prank … are they just going to leave that up there all day?” tweeted Fox News’ Dana Perino. Glenn Beck also chimed in with, “Cool for Google to not celebrate Easter but really?!!? Go to www.google.com. Happy Cesar Chavez Day everybody!”

Still, not everyone thought it was terrible. The Mexican Heritage Festival praised Google for choosing to honor Chavez by tweeting, “Bravo Google for honoring Cesar, a man of faith and peace on this Easter Sunday.”
