West Virginia Democrats who dislike President Barack Obama voiced their opinions by voting for a prison inmate in the state’s Democratic presidential primary on Tuesday.
Keith Judd, an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas received 41% of the vote. Obama garnered 59%.
In West Virginia, candidates who win 15% of the vote during a primary election qualify for representation from a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, according to The Associated Press. That won’t be happening in Judd’s case. Derek Scarbro, the state’s Democratic party executive director told the AP that no one has filed to be a delegate for Judd.
