NewLetters Jesse Jackson Jr. Auction Brings In Few Bidders[1]Looking for an autographed photo of Bruce Lee from Fist of Fury? A framed and signed poster celebrating Michael Jackson’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? You might be in luck.

These are among the many items former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. illegally purchased with campaign funds that are being auctioned off online[2] to help repay his debt.

The U.S. Marshals kicked off the auction today, in an attempt to earn back some of the $750,000 that Jackson Jr. illegally spent. Jackson Jr. was recently sentenced to 30 months in prison[3] as a result, and ordered to pay that money back to the government.

Unfortunately, interest seems to be sluggish in many of the lots[4] included in the auction. The high bid for the Michael Jackson poster was at $401, while the Fist of Fury picture was at $520. The items receiving the highest bids so far? Several ladies’ fur coats and capes, with high bids ranging from $450-965. The most valuable item right now, though, is an autographed poster celebrated the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, with a high bid of $1,560.

Still, the 12 items currently being sold are unlikely to make much of a dent in Jackson Jr.’s debt, especially at their current rate. There’s still time for more money to be raised — or to bid on items if interested. The online auction will run until Sept. 26.
