Pentagon Spends $300M to Build Spy Blimp, Sells It for $300K!

The Pentagon has just lost a lot of money trying to build an airship that was supposed to hover over war zones for up to three weeks.

MSN reports that the Long Endurance Multi-Intelligence Vehicle was a project that was meant to help the U.S. out during the war in Afghanistan but it ended up being a waste of money. The airship cost $297 million to make and after being eight months behind schedule and 12,000 pounds overweight, the Pentagon scrapped the project and sold the vehicle to the company that made it for $301,000.

The Army believes that it wasn’t a complete waste of money for the Pentagon as the technology learned from the project will help them save money in the long run.
