What are the post office hours for tax day 2017?
Most postal services announced that tax day, which falls on Tuesday, April 18, will include extended hours at the post office in order to ensure you have plenty of time to mail your return out by the necessary date.
However, the postal service noted that this year would be different due to the fact that there have been cutbacks in this country’s postal system, thus resulting in lesser hours.
Nevertheless, things changed at the last minute and it appears as if most postal services will be open for extended hours tomorrow. Make sure you check on what the situation is like locally for you, but most post offices will remain open until 7 p.m., rather than the traditional 5:00 or 5:30 p.m.
Going after work on Tuesday is very doable but you should except one really long line as many will be rushing to file their taxes before the deadline at the end of the day.
Happy tax day!
