Sex Worker Blames Her Career on McDonald’s

Prostitute assembles legal case accusing franchisee ex-husband of forcing her into her current line of work

McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) has been blamed for many things — from America’s obesity epidemic to scalding coffee burns. However, this would have to be a new one.

As The Consumerist reports, a Nevada women has gone public claiming that the fast food franchise is directly responsible for her time as a prostitute. The woman has allegedly made a federal case of her allegations, outlining that her McDonald’s employee ex-husband created a scheme through which he pushed her into a career in the world’s oldest profession.

Her allegations further detail that her former spouse provided her with a low-wage job through McDonald’s — his place of work at the time — then began dating her only to terminate her employment and push her into a career as a prostitute. She then subsequently married the man only to divorce him shortly afterward.

The woman has laid blame for her time as a prostitute squarely on McDonald’s shoulders, and has filed an organized legal case against the fast food giant. In her legal grievances, she alleges:

“Lost wages, special damages, compensatory damages, and punitive damages for sex trafficking, negligent retention and supervision of franchisees, and racketeering, among other claims.”

The legal hangup by which she hopes to hold the franchise responsible hinges on its alleged absence of an adequate grievance policy. While McDonald’s has yet to release a public statement in response to the bizarre charges, the Nevada women seems adamant in proceeding with her legal case.
