Famed singer Whitney Houston may have died earlier this year, but she may top the charts with a new hit[1] one last time.

Before her sudden death in Los Angeles[2] on February 11, Houston recorded a duet with Jordin Sparks, winner of the sixth season of the music contest show, “American Idol,” which airs on News Corp.’s (NASDAQ:NWSA[3]) Fox television network.

The new song will be released on Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL[4]) iTunes on June 5, according to

Titled “Celebrate,” the song is also featured in the film “Sparkle,” Houston’s last screen appearance before her death.

“Sparkle” will hit theaters later this year.

Sparks has been promoting the upcoming debut of “Celebrate” via Facebook (NASDAQ:FB[5]), Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG[6]) YouTube and Twitter.

Houston endured years of drug abuse prior to her death and was rumored to have depleted her immense fortune[7] as a result earlier this year.
