Billionaire Banned From New York Restaurant … for Life

He sent an irate email to his celebrity friends

Manhattan’s top restaurants are used to dealing with celebrity quirks and bad behavior. But apparently threatening to kill the manager over a seating dispute is taking things a bit too far.

Stewart Rahr, who more more than a billion dollars in the pharmacy business, is no longer allowed to enter trendy hot-spot Nobu 57, the Daily Mail noted.

The incident began when Rahr attempted to commandeer his favorite table for a birthday party. When the diners at the table declined to move, Rahr offered to pay their tab. When that didn’t work, he called the restaurant manager on his cell phone.

Irritated that the manager did not return his call, Rahr then confronted her and allegedly threatened her with violence — something Rahr denies. Unsatisfied with his altercation with the manager, Rahr sent an irate email to Nobu’s owners, including Robert DeNiro. Rahr also forwarded his email to a number of his celebrity friends, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Andre Agassi, Mark Wahlberg and Donald Trump.

All this was apparently too much for Nobu, which has banned Rahr at all of its 25 restaurants worldwide.
