[1]On film, Brad Pitt has fought the Nazis, aged backwards and even played Death. Soon, audiences will be able to watch him battle zombies[2].

The film adaptation of Max Brook’s popular novel, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, will hit theaters next summer, CBS News notes.

Produced by Viacom‘s (NASDAQ:VIAB[3]) Paramount Studios, World War Z, has suffered repeated delays caused by script alterations and scene re-shoots. The movie is estimated to have cost $180 million to make.

Pitt plays a scientist struggling to survive a worldwide zombie epidemic. Trailers for the movie have been posted online.

Hollywood clearly can’t get enough of zombies these days. AMC Networks’ (NASDAQ:AMCX[4]) post-zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead continues to attract solid cable-TV ratings.

When Brad Pitt isn’t in front of the cameras, he’s apparently designing furniture. A limited line of Pitt’s pieces will debut in New York next week[5].
