7 Companies Increasing Dividends

Companies Increasing Dividends[1]It’s still a little bit early in the year for large-scale announcements of dividend increases, but a holiday-shortened week on Wall Street didn’t keep a number of companies — including a few financials — from boosting their regular payouts.

In all, 7 companies made it onto our Companies Increasing Dividends[2] list for the week. (Note: All dividend yields as of Jan. 25.)

Test and measurement company Agilent Technologies (NYSE:A[3]) raised its quarterly dividend 20% to 12 cents per share, payable April 24 to shareholders of record as of April 24.
A Dividend Yield: 1.06%

Regional bank holding company BB&T (NYSE:BBT[4]) raised its quarterly dividend 15% to 23 cents per share, payable March 1 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 8.
BBT Dividend Yield: 2.98%

Canadian rail and transportation company Canadian National Railway (NYSE:CNI[5]) raised its quarterly dividend to 43 cents per share, payable March 28 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 7.
CNI Dividend Yield: 1.83%

Tennessee-based bank holding company First Horizon National (NYSE:FHN[6]) raised its quarterly dividend 400% to 5 cents per share, payable April 1 to common shareholders of record on March 15.
FHN Dividend Yield:

1.98%

Evansville, Ind.-based bank holding company Old National Bancorp (NYSE:ONB[7]) raised its quarterly dividend 11.1% to 10 cents per share, payable March 15 to shareholders of record as of March 1.
ONB Dividend Yield: 3.1%

Retail REIT Realty Income (NYSE:O[8]) raised its quarterly dividend 19% to 18.1 cents per share, payable Feb. 15 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 1.
O Dividend Yield: 4.98%

Banking giant Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC[9]) raised its quarterly dividend 14% to 25 cents per share, payable March 1 to stockholders of record on Feb. 1. This marks Wells Fargo’s third consecutive year of dividend increases.
WFC Dividend Yield: 2.85%
