[1]Fast-food giant McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD[2]) is going to offer new Fish McBites in its iconic Happy Meals.

The new item will be available beginning this week and continuing through March, USA Today reports[3]. The offering has been timed to go along with the period of Lent, during which many Catholics give up eating meat. Each meal will feature seven pieces of fish as well as the standard sides and drinks.

The new McBites — made from the same Alaskan cod that the chain’s Filet-O-Fish sandwiches — were put on the menu last month[4]. As a regular menu item, they come in 10-piece snack, 15-piece regular and 20-piece sharable sizes.

The move is the first change to the chain’s Happy Meal program from a decade and is part of the restaurant’s move toward more limited-time menu items. The company is hoping to repeat the success of its McRib sandwich.
