The series will be based on an upcoming DreamWorks film, Turbo, and adds to the video-streaming company’s lineup to original programming. Company officials noted that the animated series will boost Netflix’s family-friendly programming.

Netflix is moving to develop a variety of new TV shows, following the debut of Lilyhammer, its first original series, last year. It recently released House of Cards, a remake of a British series starring Kevin Spacey. Upcoming series include a reboot Arrested Development, which formerly aired on News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA) Fox Network, and Hemlock Grove, a horror series from Eli Roth.

Shares of DreamWorks Animation rose about 2% in Tuesday midday trading, while Netflix shares slipped fractionally.
