Suits alleges the star bought items at 10 cents on the dollar

judge judyTelevision star Judy Sheindlin is being sued by the ex-wife of one of her producers.

Sheindlin — who became famous as “Judge Judy” on the popular courtroom television show — is being sued by Patrice Jones over ownership of a set of $500,000 china, New York Daily News is reporting.

Jones, who is divorcing one of Sheindlin’s producers Randy Douthit, alleges in the suit that Sheindlin bought the expensive Christofle china and flatware from Douthit to hide it from the divorce court. Sheindlin bought the half-million-dollar items fro Douthit for $50,815. The suit also alleges that Sheindlin knew that Jones had half-ownership in the china when she bought it.

Jones’ attorney says there is a court order requiring Sheindlin to return the china to Jones but that she has ignored it. Sheindlin issued a released saying that she had not seen the complaint from Jones but that she didn’t think she owed Jones a cent.

Douthit and Jones filed for divorce in 2007 but the case is not yet finalized.
