Powerball-112512L[1]A group of lottery winners in Florida is generously sharing the wealth.

Jennifer Maldanado — a new employee at Plantation-based Keller Williams Partner Realty — had only been on the job for two weeks when her co-workers won $1 million in the Powerball lottery, reports The Miami Herald[2].

Maldanado had not participated in the lottery pool that the other workers played, so when they hit the non-jackpot prize, she figured she was out of luck. Even though she’d been encouraged to play, Maldanado decided not to since she hadn’t received her first check and money was tight. Her boss even offered to loan her the money; she still declined.

However, Maldanado still will share in the victory. Her generous co-workers decided to each contribute some of their winnings.

“If we do the right thing and always care about other people, the right thing will happen to us,” says Laurie Finkelstein Realtor, the head real estate agent.
