World’s Oldest Person Celebrates 116th Birthday!

oldest man[1]A man in Japan celebrated his 116th birthday today and becomes the oldest human ever recorded.

Jiroemon Kimura — who was born April 19, 1897 — celebrated his birthday in his home town of Kyotango, The Daily Mail reports[2].

Kimura received many birthday wishes as he hit the magic date. He even received a recorded video from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe congratulating him on his achievement. In a statement, an official said that Kimura attributes his long-life to eating lightly and living long. He rarely finishes a meal and drinks alcohol only in moderation.

Kimura was joined on his birthday by his 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
