Retro TV[1]Fans of ABC television will soon be able to watch their favorite shows in smartphones and tablets[2].

The broadcast network, owned by Disney (NYSE:DIS[3]) has unveiled Watch ABC, a mobile app that lets users view programming on Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL[4]) devices and Amazon‘s (NASDAQ:AMZN[5]) Kindle tablets. Initially, service will be restricted to ABC stations in Philadelphia and New York, but will expand to other major markets over the summer, USA TODAY notes.

Until June 30, anyone will be able to use the app. However, after that date, users will have to confirm that they subscribe to selected cable and satellite services that carry ABC.

Other Disney channels, including Disney XD and Disney Junior have their own apps.

A version of the app for Samsung’s popular line of Galaxy mobile devices, which run on Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG[6]) Android OS, will be released later this summer.

Shares of Disney were flat in Monday morning trading.
