Electric Car Price War: Honda Slashes Lease for Fit EV

by Adam Benjamin | May 30, 2013 10:34 am

Sustainability just became more affordable.

Automotive News reports[1] that Honda (HMC) is lowering the lease price for its Fit EV, in response to similar price cuts from competitors. The Fit EV will drop $130 per month — from $389 to $259 with no down payment. In comparison, Nissan has steadily lowered the lease rate[2] for the Nissan Leaf from $349 to its current price of $199 with a $1,999 down payment.

Honda is planning to expand the number of Fit EV dealers to 200 showrooms — more than five times the current number — by the end of June.
