Rival Online Takeout Service Companies to Merge

Seamless and GrubHub will combine their services


Seamless and GrubHub, two competing takeout services, announced yesterday that the two companies will combine.

Matt Maloney, CEO of Chicago-based GrubHub, will serve as  the new company’s CEO, while Jonathan Zabusky, CEO of New York-based Seamless, will serve as President. The merger will create a new company that services more than 20,000 restaurants in 500 U.S. cities, reports the Associated Press.

The companies said that the new name and marketing brands will be announced pending regulatory approval.
