Branson — who is often in the news for his antics — served drinks, made flight announcements and greeted passengers on Air Asia X‘s flight between Perth, Australia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, CNN reports.
The stunt came about because of a bet Branson made with Air Asia X CEO Tony Fernandes. Both Branson and Fernandes bet that their Formula One racing teams would beat the other’s. The loser would serve as a flight attendant — wearing a woman’s uniform and makeup — on one of the winner’s planes.
After losing, Branson stepped up and performed his duties on the special charity flight. While he did shave his legs — at a cocktail party the night before — Branson did keep his signature mustache and beard.
The event raised almost $200,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
