Wendy’s Moves Forward With Pretzel Bun

Wendy's WENPeople who like pretzels and burgers are about to see their culinary dreams come true.

An analyst from Janney Montgomery Scott says that burger chain Wendy‘s (WEN) will roll out its new Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger later this year. The chain announced that it was developing a pretzel bun last year and began testing the new burger in Miami in January, BurgerBusiness notes.

Featuring a heavy pretzel bread bun, the new item is otherwise similar to existing bacon cheeseburger offerings. Sources said that the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger proved an immediate hit with consumers.

Janney Montgomery Scott predicts that the new burger will hit Wendy’s restaurants nationwide during the third quarter of the year and could boost sales by between 3% and 5%. The firm has raised its outlook on Wendy’s to “buy.”

In January, Wendy’s said it would scrap breakfast menus at most of its restaurants.

Shares of Wendy’s in climbed about 1$ Tuesday morning trading.
