Facebook Billionaire Forced to Pay Extra $2.5M for Wedding Venue

sean parkerFacebook (FB[1]) billionaire and Napster co-founder Sean Parker paid $10 million for his recent Big Sur wedding.

Before being forced to pay an extra $2.5 million, that is.

Yes, that’s the whopping amount Parker and The California Coastal Commission reached. Turns out Parker built “a large movie-set like wedding site in an ecologically sensitive area of Big Sur without proper permits,” according to [2]The Associated Press[3].

Of course, that’s just the money part. Parker also has to create and distribute a public education video or app aimed at helping to identify areas where the public can access the coast.

Officials did say that Parker was quite cooperative. They also opted for a settlement instead of simply shutting the event down.
