2013_bentley_continental-gtc_convertible[1]Volkswagen’s (VLKAY[2]) Bentley announced Tuesday[3], that it will produce its own SUV.

Bentley’s SUV is currently being referred to as the “Falcon”, but that isn’t a confirmed name for the car. The Falcon will feature a 12-cylinder engine, and could also possibly run on a 4-liter twin-turbocharged V8. There are also rumors that a plug-in hybrid version using a six-cylinder engine will also be an option, reports Businessweek.

The Falcon is currently estimated at over $200,000. This will make it the most expensive SUV on the market, passing the Range Rover, which is priced at $140,000, and produced by Tata Motors’ (TTM[4]) subsidiary Land Rover, reports Businessweek.

The Falcon will be produced at Bentley’s main facility[5] in Crewe, England, and will go on sale in 2016.
