KFC to Test Out New Restaurant Concept

Kentucky Fried Chicken's new restaurant will be more fast-casual than normal KFCs

KFCYum Brands’ (YUM) Kentucky Fried Chicken, confirmed Tuesday, that it will be opening a new test restaurant.

Nation’s Restaurant News reports that the new restaurant is called “KFC eleven”, and will be a place for KFC to test out a fast-casual type business. The restaurant will be located in Louisville, Ken., and will use KFC’s Original Recipe Boneless chicken to make flatbreads, sandwiches, salads and rice bowls.

KFC introduced the Original Recipe Boneless chicken earlier this year, and has been cited by Yum Brands president Rick Carucci, as the reason  KFC stores saw a 3% increase in sales during its second-quarter, reports Nation’s Restaurant News.

Unlike the “KFC Route 25” test store opened in Japan last year, ‘KFC eleven’ will not serve alcoholic drinks.
