Evolution FreshShoppers at Whole Foods Markets (WFM) across the country will soon be able to purchase juice and snack bars from the nation’s leading coffee shop chain.

The deal is part of Starbucks’ plan to extend its packaged foods business beyond its popular coffee shops. By the end of this year, the chain expects to have Evolution-branded packaged goods in more than 8,000 retail locations nationwide. It is part of an overall effort to diversify its product offerings.

Starbucks has also partnered with Danone (DANOY) to launch a line of Greek yogurt products set to debut next year.

Whole Foods has been moving to add more frozen and prepackaged foods and increase its number of sales and discounts in a bid to temper its upscale image with consumers.

Shares of Starbucks climbed more than 1% in Wednesday morning trading, while shares of Whole Foods Markets fell modestly.
