Yahoo Hires Former Googler to Run Flickr

The Mayer Yahoo makeover continues

Yahoo (YHOO) announced that a former Google (GOOG) exec has joined the company in order to take over the photo-sharing website Flickr.

All Things D reported yesterday that Yahoo is continuing its facelift with the hiring of Bernardo Hernández González, Google’s former Director of Product Management. The tech guru is not the first Google product to make the switch to Yahoo — CEO Marissa Mayer hired Dylan Casey from Path back in May.

Hernández — who also worked as the Managing Director of Zagat — succeeds Brett Wayn as the Flickr lead. The Spanish investor has been named as one of the 25 most influential Spanish Internet personalities every year for the last 7 years by El Mundo.

The online company also announced that it will have a new logo next month as part of its ongoing makeover.
