General Motors NYSE:GM[1]General Motors’ (GM[2]) newly redesigned pickups are selling faster than they can be made.

Orders for the most popular versions of the company’s Silverado and Sierra pickups are exceeding a suppliers ability to produce drivetrain parts. The Silverado and Sierra trucks that are seeing high demand are the 5.3-liter V-8 engine versions. Due to the limited parts, GM has limited the number of these vehicles that can be ordered by dealers. According to Terry Rhadigan, a GM spokesman, a dealer that orders 10 of the new trucks is only receiving eight of them. It’s unknown how long it could take to solve this issue, reports Automotive News[3].

GM’s 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was rated as the best pickup truck[4] over Fiat‘s (FIATY[5]) Chrysler Ram 1500 and Ford‘s (F[6]) F-150 by Consumer Reports.
