More Amazon Employees Sue Over Unpaid Time

Workers aren't paid for 20-to-30 security checks

A group of Amazon (AMZN) employees are suing the online retailer for unpaid time.

The employees claim they are suing over unpaid theft and security checks, which they claim can take 20-to-30 minutes. The employees have to go through these security checks before and after their shifts. These workers aren’t the only ones unsatisfied with being unpaid during the security checks. According to attorney David Garrison, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that an Amazon location in Nevada had to pay employees for the time spent during the security checks. The company has two similar lawsuits being filed against it in federal court in Louisville, Ky., reports USA Today.

The Amazon workers are also put through the security checks when they clock in and out for their unpaid lunch breaks.
