NFL player Rashad Johnson lost the top of his finger on Sunday but didn’t even realize it until he took his glove off.
The Arizona Cardinals safety lost the top of his left middle finger during the team’s loss against the New Orleans Saints, according to Bleacher Report. No one’s entirely sure how this freak accident happened, but it’s believed that Johnson was attempting to tackle Darren Sproles on a punt return when he fell down and possibly smashed it in the ground. The 27-year-old took his glove off after the game and realized that he was missing the top of his finger which was still in the glove.
The NFL player underwent surgery to avoid infection as the bone was exposed. Doctors shaved and repaired the bone and Johnson lost every part of the finger down to the first knuckle.
