St. Louis Man Charged With Tweeting World Series Bomb Threats

Robert Metzinger referenced the device used in the Boston Marathon boming

A St. Louis man was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor after posting bomb threats on Twitter before a World Series game.

Reuters reports that Robert Metzinger made allegedly threatening references to the Boston Marathon bombing last April and mentioned the pressure cooker used in that explosion. A statement on the St. Louis circuit attorney’s website said that the 30-year-old man tweeted “an implied threat to use an explosive device in or around the area of Busch Stadium during the upcoming World Series.”

Police officers arrested Metzinger on Friday before Game 3 of the World Series in St. Louis and charged him with a Class A misdemeanor. He was released on a $10,000 bond and a judge has ordered him to undergo psychiatric evaluation another court appearance on Nov. 22.
